Acumen goes Bluetooth!

For some years now we have been looking at making a good motorcycle Bluetooth intercom. No wires! Wonderful. Our own specification for a Bluetooth Intercom included;

• Waterproof
• BIG buttons so you can operate it with gloves on
• Nice helmet mount
• Unobtrusive
• On-bike charging
• Universal boom microphone headset kit
• Lo-o-o-ng talk and standby times

For various reasons it has never been at the top of the 'to-do list' but we have kept our eye on the market. Then along comes the "Cellularline Interphone" intercom product and it is very, very good. It is almost what we have made - certainly what we had specified - but with one flaw - in our book anyway!

When most people go touring on a motorcycle, they are limited in carrying capacity - so everything they can leave behind is a bonus. One of the things we don't want to carry with us is a mains charger - especially one with only a UK plug which means another adaptor for touring in Europe. We had always specified an on-bike charger to charge the Bluetooth module from the motorcycle battery. So, we are marketing the Interphone product but including an on-bike charger; all for the same price. The same as giving a free on-bike charger (£20 value).

This kit is for one person - for connection to, say, a mobile phone or GPS. NOTE! For two people (bike-to-bike or rider-to-passenger) buy the "X2", kit at a saving of £25 over two single kits - supplied with 2 x on-bike chargers.

The Bluetooth module will connect to, say, a mobile phone, GPS, or another Acucom. It can also 'toggle' between intercom and mobile-phone modes.

100% waterproof (when the microphone is connected) and with BIG buttons to operate it - you can even toggle between mobile-phone and intercom mode. With a 700 hour standby time, and 7 hour talk time, this is a seriously useful piece of kit.
