Acumen Electronics began in 1997, as the supplier of the UK's best selling self-fit alarm systems; the 902 and 911 range. Since those humble beginnings, Acumen expanded into other products - such as Thatcham-spec alarms, EU-Patented Chain Oilers and, of course, the widest range of Digital gear indicators available today.

In February 2003 David Martin joined the company as Managing Director - David had spent 7 happy years at Datatool, as their Production and Technical Director - and the company has moved a long way since. Now employing 6 permanent staff, the premises in Andover, Hampshire, include storage and a small in-house production facility.

Acumen is great believer that while "Sales sells the first, service sells the second". To that end we are committed to giving the best back-up there is in the market today. We don't even have voicemail on the premises - you will get to speak to a person (During office hours of course). And of course, being a 100% motorcycle company, we practice what we preach. David (being the V-Twin fan) currently rides a Yamaha MT01 and Paul rides a Honda Hornet in the winter, and an R1 in the summer. Tracey, our head of production, has a Yamaha XJR1300.
